This positions both your heel and ball of the foot the same distance from the ground, improving your foot s landing zone and providing a high level of stability. This way, your shoes promote better posture and alignment every time you run. The shoe s Natural Ride System improves your running experience by using complimentary running technologies, including foot-shaped lasts and outsole and midsole componentry that includes a proper metatarsal parabola. The shoe s foot-shaped design allows your toes to splay naturally and helps your feet maintain proper position to reduce overpronation excessive inward roll of the foot after landing and pain. The FootPod outsole, which maps the bones and tendons of the foot, provides both flex and traction on various surfaces. This running shoe comes with a removable stability wedge for runners with overpronation, fallen arches or knock knees. The wedge works in conjunction with the support insole. The insole has a traditional molded arch and heel wrap and can be worn with or without the wedge. The shoe can be worn without the Stability Wedge or Support Insole to strengthen feet or for a faster, firmer responsive feel for athletes that already have strong feet. Altra running shoes are built to provide support when needed and the comfort to go long. This shoe is constructed with A-Bound, an energy return compound that sits directly under the foot to help soften the impact of hard surfaces and provide a responsive, bouncy ride. For additional stability, The Provision also features a firmer midsole than other Altra shoes. The shoes feature asymmetric lacing, which improves fit and natural flex zones and minimizes uncomfortable pressure points. Altra s Provisioness model is designed for women s narrower heels, smaller insteps, longer arches and different metatarsal positioning. It also has thinner rubber and slightly softer cushioning to account for women s smaller frame. Altra Women s Provisioness Running Shoes with stability wedges, support insoles, and Altra Education Booklet.Provision Provisioness Zero Drop FootPod A-Bound Nearly 20 years after opening a family-operated dream running store, Altra s founders still felt that there was a large gap in the athletic shoes marketplace for truly biomechanically correct footwear. And so the Altra brand was born from the belief that shoes shouldn t encourage a heel strike they should let the body move naturally. For years, the Altra team experimented with cutting down the heels of regular running shoes to test their proprietary Zero Drop theory and saw incredible results with staff and customers alike. It eliminated injuries and helped people get back into running. Working with engineers, designers, elite runners and biomechanical experts, Altra started making prototypes to bring this innovative footwear to the masses.
Customer reviews
Perfect shoe for problem feetIt s very difficult for me to find shoes that don t hurt my feet. I have a neuroma, fallen arches with severe over pronation, and a very wide toe spread. These shoes are heavenly Widest toe box I ve ever found in an athletic shoe. I would still prefer slightly wider, but by far the widest I ve bought. The inserts that come with the shoe are very cushy and comfortable. I did remove them and use my custom orthotics however, due to the severity of my foot problems. They accommodate my orthotics beautifully. I do recommend following the manufacturer s advice to begin running in them gradually. The zero drop does shift the burden to slightly different muscles than traditional shoes. I found the adjustment to only last a couple days though. Now my feet are very very happy in these shoes
