J. Gootee: Great chair - tough to assemble

Once I got it assembled, I found this to be a very nice chair. It is comfortable and the color fit in with the d cor in our living room where we needed a new sturdy chair. I would have given 5 stars had it not been so difficult to assemble. To help other people who purchase this, I have attached modified instructions which should make the assembly a breeze. It tool me a long time to decide to ignore the instruction that stated "Please do not tighten the screws fully before you have completed assembly". I spent a good 45 minutes trying to get the four side screws holes lined with no success. I realized that the holes to screw into were relatively close to the back of the chair than the ones in the seat bottom I was trying to attach. I contacted the seller and while waiting to hear from them, I decided to try something the instructions said not to do. I tightened the first screw all the way and magically, all of the other holes were aligned and assembly was a breeze. One other thing to note is that there are five flat washers that are used in the assembly process and one of them has a flat side. It goes in a particular position to allow assembly since the hole is closer to the seat support in that location. My modified instructions show all of the things I learned and I hope that you will find them useful as well. I have included a photo of the finished chair with a couple of throw pillows. It is truly a very nice chair.
