The heavier, the bulkier. 5lbs Each were the perfect set for me.I bought my first set as 10 lb. per weight 20lbs max and they were wayyyyyy too heavy. They were super bulky around my ankles. I decided to keep them as modifications for different workouts e.g., use them as weights for hip thrusts instead of an uncomfortable barbell . I bought the 5lb. Per weight 10lbs total and they were much better. I use these as an extension to my workouts with resistance bands and for things like jump squats, donkey kicks, etc. I have a 2.5 lb each ankle weight set from another brand a long time ago and was looking for more of a challenge. 5 lbs was perfect for me
