Everything, even our awesome bumper plates, has a lifespan. Here are some ways to make them last longer so you can lift more
When lifting, make sure your collars are tight so, when dropped, the bumper plates land straight up and down and closer to the bar s center of gravity. While bumper plates are meant to flex and absorb the impact from drops, landing at angle can weaken them. If the plates are loose and further from the bar s center than necessary, this increases the load they need to absorb, adding unnecessary stress to your gear. And even though dropping from overhead can make you feel really bad-arse, unless bailing, try to bring your weight down to at least shoulder-height before letting er go.
Simple solution adjust your collars between reps if things start to shift, or get a pair of our Synergee Aluminum Collars to keep things tight and in place
